Plasterboard Materials

Plasterboard, also known as gypsum board or drywall, is a flat rectangular building material consisting of a gypsum core coated on both sides with paper. They are widely used in construction sites, especially inside buildings and facilities in Cyprus.

We supply plasterboard from Knauf, one of the global names in the business. We also supply rockwool from Fibran and external use gypsumboard from George Pacific Dense Glass.

Gypsum is the basis of modern building material plasterboard. The outer part of the drywall paper gives greater strength and better surface.

The gypsum boards are light weight, high flexibility and remarkable mechanical strength. They provide thermal insulation, high fire resistance and perfect finish ready for paint, wallpaper or tile installation.

Plasterboard categories include:

• Standard: Standard plasterboard is used for the construction of suspended ceilings, partition walls and external wall linings.
• Fire Resistant: This plasterboard is used in construction of buildings or internal wall partitions high fire resistance requirements. The core contains the mineral fibers and additives that give the special plasterboard fire resistance.
• Fire-Proof: This plasterboard is used in areas requiring increased passive fire protection and moisture resistance.
• Damp-Proof: This plasterboard is used in areas of high humidity. The paper contains the fungicide and the core substance is treated with additives that reduce significantly the absorption of moisture.

Plasterboard components are easily fastened with screws on a metal frame, nails on a wooden frame or additional to existing masonry, forming the basis for Dry Construction Systems.

These systems meet the highest requirements in thermal insulation, sound insulation, fire resistance and seismic resistance.

Dry Construction Systems consist of plasterboard cement, metal profiles, components and materials processing surfaces. These are modern materials for construction and decoration of any interior and are divided into Roofing Systems, Wall and Wall Coverings.
