Our suppliers use ACQ, a copper based preservative for timber for internal and external applications of both ‘ground contact’ and ‘above ground’ usage. This has been approved for use around the world.
Its main purpose is to prevent the spread and international transport of disease and insects that could negatively affect plants or ecosystems.
ISPM 15 affects all wood packaging material like dunnage, pallets and crates requiring that they be either debarked, heat treated or fumigated.
As a mark of compliance all packaging materials under ISPM 15 should be marked with a stamp indication the treating method, the manufacturing country and the number of the certified manufacturer.
Our suppliers are certified by the official grading agency for strength grading softwood for construction purposes according to the visual grade standards as well as machine grade standards as set out in the British Standards.
We supply customers with a range of sizes in various structural grade classes like C16, C18 and C24.
Every piece of strength-graded timber is marked with a certified grade stamp mentioning the species, moisture content, grading method, mill certificate number, manufacturing country, and the strength class.
Strength graded timber enables the customers to select timber with sufficient minimal strength required for a particular structural function like usage inside a wall element, a floor joist or a roof truss.
CE marking is a key indicator of a product’s compliance with EU legislation and enables the free movement of products within the European Union. By affixing the CE marking on a product, a manufacturer is declaring conformity with all of the legal requirements to achieve CE marking and therefore ensuring validity for that product to be sold throughout the European Economic Area.
For construction materials the CE marking guarantees that the manufacturer meets safety requirements set by European Quality and Safety Directives.
The PEFC national forest certification systems represents over 230 million ha of certified forests and is the largest forest certification system in the world.
PEFC is the only international forest certification scheme that bases its criteria on internationally accepted intergovernmental conventions and guidelines thus linking its sustainability benchmark criteria with existing governmental rules. PEFC International is represented at the national level through local certification systems.
Once a forest is certified it is important to trace the products that come from it throughout the supply chain to ensure that any claims on the origin of the product are credible and verifiable. PEFC Chain of Custody (COC) is a tracking system that allows manufacturers and traders to demonstrate that timber comes from a forest that is responsibly managed in accordance with the PEFC principles and criteria. COC tracks the flow of certified wood through the supply chain and across borders through each successive stage including processing and manufacturing.

FSC develops standards, performs independent audits and certifies enterprises which satisfy a certain set of requirements. Certified enterprises may sell timber with FSC claims.
A certified supply chain ensures timber product traceability all the way from the forest to the final consumer. The certificate testifies that raw materials for certified wood products have originated in a forest managed in a sustainable way.
If a wood product, including timber, has been certified, it is possible to track its progress through all stages of the supply chain.
